Kantech Systems VC-485 Communication Interface Kit

The Kantech VC-485 is a multi-function communication interface and RS-232 to RS-485 protocol converter designed for Kantech access control systems. It provides communication between a host PC serial port and Kantech KT-Series door controllers connected on an RS-485 multidrop network. The interface supports up to 32 Kantech controllers and can extend RS-485 communication up to 1,200 meters using suitable cabling. Two VC-485 units can also be connected back-to-back to function as a communication line repeater, extending the distance up to approximately 5,486 meters. The unit operates from 5 VDC or 12 VDC and supports UTP cabling. The kit includes the VC-485 interface and associated serial connection accessories.
